Winners of the annual American Advertising Awards, formerly known as the ADDYs, will be announced on February 17, 2015 in what is sure to be one of the highlights of the year for many creative local marketing and advertising agencies.
“We work hard all year and really enjoy recognizing those outstanding professionals in our area,” said American Advertising Federation Asheville (AAFA) awards chair, Russ Shuler. “And this is a big opportunity for our members to participate in the national awards programs.”
The event will be held at The Millroom at Asheville Brewing Co., 66 Asheland Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Cost for the event is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Food and drinks will be available.
The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.
Conducted annually by the AAF, the local chapter phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie to win awards and recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards.
AAF Asheville brings together the creative minds and diverse disciplines that make up WNC’s advertising industry. As members of District 3 in the American Advertising Federation, AAF Asheville offers advertising expertise and support to the membership and the entire Western North Carolina community through self-regulation, education, professional development, communications and public service.
