Church Street neighbors Trinity Episcopal and First Presbyterian churches are sponsoring the annual “Loaves & Fishes Alternative Gift Market” on Sunday, December 7 (9:00AM-1:00 PM). The event will be hosted at Trinity Episcopal Church’s Tuton Hall (60 Church Street).
“Loaves & Fishes” is an opportunity to purchase a gift that matters to those in need. When you make a purchase you will receive a holiday greeting card, envelope and gift insert that describes the type of donation and who it will benefit. For example, a $5 donation could provide a coloring book & crayons for a child at the Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families. A $25 donation could help house a woman in the Room in the Inn program of Homeward Bound.
Brochures are available at Trinity and First Presbyterian churches and can also be downloaded at www.fpcasheville.org or www.trinityasheville.org . Pre-orders will not be able to be filled until the day of the market. Orders placed after the market will be received until December 16th. For more information please contact the First Presbyterian Church at 828-253-1431.
The gift market assists the local and international non-profit work of: Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, Asheville Youth Mission, Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families, Child Care Center of FPCA, Children First/ CIS, Church of the Advocate, Haywood Street Congregation, Helios Warriors, Helpmate, Homeward Bound of WNC, Just Economics, Ministry of Hope (Women Chaplaincy Program), MANNA FoodBank, Meals on Wheels, Pisgah Legal Services, Presbytery of WNC: Guatemala Partnership, Trinity Place (program of Caring for Children), Western Carolina Rescue Ministries, and YWCA of Asheville.
