Congrats to Benjamin Hamrick of Johnson Price Sprinkle for winning the prestigious CPA Pinnacle Award. In other news, Park Ridge Health and Gardner-Webb University welcome promising new team members. Avadim is now a contracted product of the VA, and YWCA of Asheville has expanded their Early Learning Program with two new classrooms.

Achievement

  • Pardee UNC Health Care’s Elizabeth Reilly Breast Center has been named a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence™, the highest certification level in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers™ (NQMBC) program. Pardee’s breast center is the only facility in the state of North Carolina to receive this designation.
  • Johnson Price Sprinkle PA is pleased to announce Benjamin C. Hamrick, CEO & Shareholder, received the CPA Pinnacle Award on July 31, 2018.  The CPA Pinnacle Award is the highest honor bestowed by the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and recognizes individuals who have had a profound and significant influence on the CPA profession and/or the association itself.

Announcement

  • Gardner–Webb University hosted Summer Commencement on Saturday, Aug. 4 in the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center at 10 a.m.  More than 200 traditional undergraduate, degree completion, and graduate program students were honored for their achievements during the ceremony.
  • Officials at Gardner-Webb University are thrilled to announce that Dr. Sydney Brown has been appointed as the new dean for the Gayle Bolt Price School of Graduate Studies beginning this month. Brown replaces Dr. Jeff Rogers, who resigned from the post earlier this summer.
  • Avadim Technologies Inc. announced today that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has added Avadim’s clinical brands for hospitals and the military to a medical device, supplies and services contract held by ADS, Inc.Theraworx® Protect is now a contracted product and available for use throughout the Veterans Health Administration, the largest integrated health care system in the United States.

  • Park Ridge Health also welcomes Amanda Justus, PA-C to its Surgery Specialists team. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant. In addition to her exceptional skills at providing compassionate patient care, she also has extensive training in development and implementation of treatment plans, and diagnostic studies.

Expansion

  • In support of local families and children, YWCA of Asheville is expanding their Early Learning Program beginning with two new classrooms opening this month. Going one step further to make sure some of the most vulnerable families can access early care and education, one of these classrooms is dedicated to NC Pre-K.
  • Park Ridge Health and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center are joining forces to elevate the level of emergency care available to people in the Western North Carolina region. Now, Park Ridge Health ER Physician Services are provided by Wake Forest Baptist. Each of the Wake Forest Baptist emergency providers is board-certified and residency-trained in emergency medicine. They have joined the Park Ridge Health medical team, delivering high quality, compassionate care for patients using Park Ridge Health’s Emergency Department.

Individuals may drop in to one of the four urgent care locations in Buncombe County, or visit the one in Transylvania County at their convenience. The new Burnsville location, opening on August 31, will also offer the same special rate.
