Sundance Power Systems, Inc. was recently notified that we are now officially designated as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) with the Statewide Uniform Certification Program under the NC Department of Administration.
Sundance has been operating as a woman-owned business for the past 17 years since its incorporation in 1995. Earlier this year, the Management Team decided to pursue this status as there are now considerable renewable energy projects and expanded bid opportunities in the State. “While Sundance Power Systems has always been a woman-owned business, it is incredibly gratifying after all these years to be acknowledged by the state of North Carolina as such,” reports co-founder and owner Sierra Hollister.
Sundance Power Systems was founded with the mission to offer renewable energy systems as a means of addressing energy sustainability and its impact on our environment, and has grown into a full-service renewable energy provider serving residential, commercial, and institutional sectors. The company has installed renewable energy systems in all 26 counties in Western North Carolina and throughout the region. Recent municipal projects include a solar electric system for Raleigh’s Wilders Grove Solid Waste Services Facility and solar thermal systems on four of the city’s fire stations, as well as two in the City of Asheville. Other installations include systems for Appalachian State University, Duke University, Clemson, The NC Botanical Garden, and Asheville’s Green Restaurant Initiative.
Sundance Power Systems is certified through the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) and holds an H-1 Mechanical license, NC Plumbing and Electrical licenses, and an unlimited GC license through our subsidiary Sundance Power, LLC.
