Silver-Line Plastics, an industry-leading manufacturer of plastic pipe products, today announced a major expansion of its Lawton manufacturing facility located in Lawton’s West Industrial Park.
The company’s plan will double the size of the current facility and add more extrusion lines to increase production capacity and better serve its growing customer base. “When we were first ready to expand outside our home state of North Carolina 15 years ago, we chose Lawton for its business friendly environment, strategic location, and people”, said Ricky Silver, President and CEO. Silver added that this expansion confirms that Silver-Line made the right decision. “We look forward to growing our business in Lawton for many years to come.”
The expansion will mean about 20 new jobs at the Lawton Plant, according to Keith O. Bridges, Director of Economic Development and Recruitment at Great Plains Technology Center (GPTC). Bridges and the Lawton Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) have worked closely with Silver-Line’s management team to make this expansion possible.
“With the new jobs Silver-Line’s Lawton workforce will grow to about 80 employees over the next few years”, Bridges said. He explained that each new manufacturing job will also create almost one additional job in the community to support the Silver-Line expansion. “We anticipate the company will increase its annual payroll to about three and one-half million dollars a year”, he said. It’s expected the project will result in capital investments of up to $10,000,000 over the next five years.
Construction to expand the plant located at 8801 SW Neal will start in the third quarter of 2015.
