Roberts & Stevens is pleased to welcome Eric P. Edgerton to the litigation team and John W. Toth to the corporate law team of the firm.
Eric P. Edgerton is a litigation attorney who works on a wide array of litigation matters, including business litigation, product liability, professional liability, insurance defense, construction litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He has experience with personal injury and wrongful death legal cases, including those arising out of construction and automobile accidents. Edgerton also has experience handling contract disputes, particularly those relating to insurance coverage.
Edgerton joins the firm after graduating from The George Washington University Law School. He has worked as a law clerk in both the private and public sectors, most recently completing a fellowship with the Office of the Attorney General in Washington, DC. Prior to law school, Edgerton gained experience while working in the New York office of a major international law firm.
An Asheville native, Edgerton returned to Western North Carolina in order to clerk with Roberts & Stevens during his summers in law school. He is actively involved in the local community, working with Pisgah Legal Services as a Mountain Area Volunteer Attorney, as well as sitting on the Carolina Day School Alumni Board.
John W. Toth is an attorney who focuses his practice on business law. He provides counsel and representation to large and closely-held corporations, small businesses, non-profits, manufacturers and distributors, physician groups, and healthcare organizations. Toth advises clients on a broad range of transactional issues including entity formation, tax-exempt status, reorganization, acquisition and sale of businesses, and corporate contracts.
Toth graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2014, where he served as an Executive Articles Editor for the Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law. He first ventured to Asheville in 2012, where he gained significant legal experience while serving as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Martin Reidinger at the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. Toth returned to Western North Carolina in 2013 to work as a summer associate with Roberts & Stevens.
After living in various areas of the country and abroad, Toth and his family are thrilled to call Asheville home. Toth is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division and Business Law Section.
