Roberts & Stevens welcomes new attorney Jillian W. Ballard

Roberts & Stevens is pleased to welcome Jillian W. Ballard to the firm.Ballard is an associate attorney who practices transactional commercial and residential Real Estate law. She works closely with realtors, banks, homeowners, and homebuyers in Western North Carolina.  Jillian spent three summers as a law clerk at Roberts & Stevens before becoming an attorney in 2014, and is proud to call the firm home.
 

Ballard graduated from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, where she excelled both as a member of the school’s flagship journal, the University of Louisville Law Review, and as a member of the Negotiation Team, which she led to the national competition in 2013. Jillian also organized a community outreach program that partnered with an inner-city high school to help students better their writing and vocabulary skills and won two Outstanding Student Awards for her efforts.

Prior to law school, Ballard worked as a high school German teacher in the Middle Tennessee Public Schools System. While there she met her husband, John, who currently teaches Band at West McDowell Junior High in Marion. She continues to value the importance of teachers, public schools, and their success. 

Ballard graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a community service fraternity which requires 30 hours of community service each semester. She grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She loves to travel and to donate her time and expertise to community service organizations and projects.
