Asheville, NC – In conjunction with the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville – Buncombe County (EDC), local technology firm HomeGauge, Inc. announces a new product release to coincide with its 10-year anniversary. Over the past decade, Asheville-based HomeGauge has grown from a single employee to over 10, with its industry-leading home inspection software and internet tools serving home inspectors and real estate professionals in all 50 states and Canada. President Russell Buchanan launched HomeGauge in January of 2001, capitalizing on his experience as a professional home inspector and general contractor in Asheville, North Carolina. Buchanan explains, “Our core customers are home inspectors who need to differentiate the quality, expertise, and efficiency of their services in a tightly competitive real estate market. The speed and reliability of the inspection report can make or break a sale. Our tools deliver real value to all parties involved in that sale, which means repeat business for the home inspector.” In order to thrive throughout the volatile real estate market of the past decade, HomeGauge had to innovate and perform more consistently than industry competitors. Sean Moore, Senior Programmer and Vice President of HomeGauge, attributes this success to the technical skill and entrepreneurial spirit of their staff. Moore adds, “Our local technology community has aided in our success. Asheville offers world-class programming and development skills that you rarely find in a market of our size. We have four programmers in-house and we located this talent in our own city. At trade shows around the country, Asheville is recognized as a place where arts and technology thrive. That reputation and talent pool is the lifeblood of small firms like ours.” HomeGauge continues to make strategic investments in human resources and product development that will ensure its continued growth. Existing HomeGauge products allow buyers, sellers, and brokers to identify licensed inspectors, schedule an inspection, view a completed inspection report, and pay for reports directly from the inspector’s website. Recently, HomeGauge expanded its service offerings to include “The HomeGauge Network,” connecting local service providers with the home purchaser to establish a trusted network for home improvement services. HomeGauge also serves the Asheville community as a business development resource for local entrepreneurs by hosting industry-specific marketing and business-planning seminars at the firm’s home offices in Asheville’s River Arts District. “HomeGauge is an excellent example of Asheville’s growing innovation and technology hub,” shares Asheville Mayor, Terry Bellamy. “We are proud of their success and commitment to our community.” “The HomeGauge team represents the real pioneers of the tech industry in Asheville and Buncombe County,” said EDC Chairman K. Ray Bailey. “Their longevity demonstrates that our community cultivates world-class talent, products and services.” For more information on HomeGauge, please visit www.HomeGauge.com.
