ASHEVILLE, N.C. – In conjunction with the Buncombe County Commission and the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC), Baldor Electric Company announced today 41 new jobs and a $4.2 million investment in facilities and equipment at its Weaverville, N.C. campus. ASHEVILLE, N.C. – In conjunction with the Buncombe County Commission and the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC), Baldor Electric Company announced today 41 new jobs and a $4.2 million investment in facilities and equipment at its Weaverville, N.C. campus. A member of the ABB Group, Baldor Electric Company is the leading North American designer and manufacturer of industrial electric motors and mechanical power transmission products.
Baldor’s expansion of its Asheville Plant consolidates manufacturing from Canada into Buncombe County to take advantage of available production capacity and to manufacture products closer to its customers. The expansion will enable increased local CNC machining of mechanical power transmission components for the leading Baldor-Dodge brand. Baldor-Dodge products are used in a wide range of essential industrial applications throughout North America, such as utility, industry, transport, and infrastructure uses, to improve performance, reliability, and environmental impact.
Baldor’s plant has been manufacturing Dodge brand mechanical power transmission components in its current location under different entities since 1979. The company is adding 41 jobs to its 140 employees and hiring has already begun. Baldor’s job openings will be posted at www.ncworks.gov.
