Power Lunch = Powerful Launch for Junior Achievement – Nov. 14th

November 11, 2014

This Friday, your business lunch will make a powerful difference in our children’s business education!

In the American business vernacular, the “power lunch” is the time when business connections are made, discussions are had and big decisions take root.  On Friday, November 14, the “power lunch” takes on even greater meaning:  it becomes a powerful fundraising launch to benefit Junior Achievement (JA) of Western North Carolina. Asheville’s business “movers and shakers” are invited to enjoy an informal business lunch at Atlanta Bread, 633 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville, NC  28804 from the hours of 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  Asheville resident Jill Fisher, owner of both Atlanta Bread Asheville locations will donate 10% of all sales to JA.  The event is open to the public.

To enhance your “meeting, greeting & eating,” some of Asheville’s best & brightest business leaders will be voluntary servers to bring you, your client or prospect a lunch. These individuals are true servant leaders who are committed to building and improving their companies, our communities and our future!   The lineup includes:

Ben Hamrick – Johnson, Price & Sprinkle

(Chair – Board of Directors – Asheville Chamber of Commerce)

Dana Stonestreet – HomeTrust Savings Bank

(Immediate Past Chair – Board of Directors – Asheville Chamber of Commerce)

Josh Awtry – Asheville Citizen Times

James Baley – Van Winkle Law Firm

Melissa Hill – Capital Bank

Terri King – Coldwell Banker King

Dari Mullins – Signarama & host of WZGM’s Modern Mentors

Chris Smith – Asheville Tourists Baseball

The Honorable Gwen Wisler – Asheville City Council

This year business volunteers from Junior Achievement (JA) of Western North Carolina will be in 130+ classrooms, teaching students about free enterprise, the economy, business skills and job shadowing opportunities.  JA gives students an edge in learning about careers and opportunities, creating a brighter and better future for them . . . and for everyone!
