My name is Christopher Shaw and I’m a Certified Industrial Hygienist with Apex that’s local to the Asheville area. My role within Apex is to ensure safe handling and management of hazardous materials, as well as provide worker safety assessments and solutions to our Clients. This takes the form of building inspections for hazardous constituents in materials (e.g., asbestos, lead-based paint, etc.) and employee monitoring for constituents of concern (e.g., silica dust, noise, etc.).

In North Carolina, Apex has a field office in Asheville with established offices in Charlotte and Raleigh. Apex offers comprehensive professional and field services to assess, prevent, and cure environmental issues related to water, ground, facilities, and air quality. ARTERMIS can help capture and manage your information so you can achieve regulatory compliance, meet your business metrics, and drive the efficiencies that matter most to your company’s bottom line. Using a smartphone app that can be used on multiple devices and operating systems (iPhones, iPads, Android, Microsoft, etc.) and a digital upload, data can be viewed, queried, filtered, and reported on quickly and easily. ARTEMIS is highly customizable and/or site specific, the information can be tailored for your use in reports, budgets, board publications, etc.
As stated, safety is Apex’s top priority for both employees and clients; we strive to help our clients create livable and management environments whether it is within a work environment, home, or community setting. As a Certified Industrial Hygienist, I identify and investigate hazards, as well as suggesting plans to either eliminate or minimize those hazards; safety is not just the culture of Apex, it is my profession.
Apex has established offices in Charlotte and Raleigh but is new to the Asheville area.
