“I knew that I wanted a business that could help people deal with the frustration of technology, where they used the technology and that was when I found NerdsToGo,” says Owner & Operator Brian Stauffer. “We have been open for less that year and already we have helped and support many local businesses and residents.”

Tell us about your business and the role you play in it.
I’m the owner and operator of NerdsToGo Mobile IT solutions for businesses and homes. We specialize in repairs, cyber security, work productivity and employee/customer training. Our Nerds serve the Asheville and surrounding communities and we come to you, where your technology lives.
Where did your vision begin? How has it grown?
During Covid I had a lot of services brought to me with Instacarts, GrubHub, etc. I even broke my phone and had someone fix it in my driveway. I knew that I wanted a business that could help people deal with the frustration of technology, where they used the technology and that was when I found NerdsToGo. We have been open for less that year and already we have helped and support many local businesses and residents.
What made you choose the Asheville area?
I have been in North Carolina since 2010. I was in Wilmington, NC for several of those years before moving to the mountains of Asheville in 2019 to be closer to family.
What has been your greatest challenge? Your greatest victory?
Our greatest challenge is educating business owners and residents on the benefits of an IT service. It’s 2022 and technology is improving and being integrated way quicker than ever before. At some point you’ll need to partner with a business like mine in order to stay in the curve. We are in the middle of a technology paradigm shift where we are moving from technology as a tool to technology as the foundation for your business.
What is a little known fact about your organization?
We are locally owned with the benefit of an enterprise IT organization. We have a 100 Nerd network which means we will be able to solve any IT problem you would have.
What does the word “community” mean to you?
Community is everyone bringing their best ideas and skills to build a system of life that everyone enjoys and thrives in.
