NC Bar Assocation Young Lawyers Division to host Wills for Heroes – Feb. 22nd

The North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division is holding a Wills for Heroes event in Asheville on Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (the last appointment will be scheduled for 4:15 pm) at the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, located at 340 Victoria Road, Asheville, North Carolina 28801.  
No prior estate planning background is required to serve as an attorney or non-attorney volunteer.

First responders are provided with a questionnaire to fill out prior to the event. 

Licensed NC attorneys are needed to draft the Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney and Health Care Powers of Attorney.  For non-attorneys, notaries and witnesses are needed. 
You may sign up to volunteer for a morning (9:00am-1:30pm), afternoon (12:30-5:30) or all-day shift (9:00-5:30).  
Training for this event is scheduled at 9:00 a.m. for the morning and all-day sessions and at 12:30 p.m. for the afternoon session.  During this time, volunteers will receive about 30 minutes of training on basic NC law regarding Wills, Durable Powers for Attorney and Health Care Powers of Attorney.
