Mountain Play Lodge is presenting sponsor for Mission Children’s Hospital annual radiothon

November 10, 2015

Mountain Play Lodge, an indoor play and party center located in Arden, has donated $100,000 to Mission Children’s Hospital and will be the presenting sponsor of the hospital’s annual KISS Country Cares for Kids Radiothon that will take place in March 2016.  Shaun and Sara Collyer are the owners of Mountain Play Lodge and presented the donation to Dr. Susan Mims, Vice-President and Medical Director of Mission Children’s Hospital.

“Having children, you hope that you will never need the services offered by Mission Children’s Hospital.  However, if your child ever needs their services, you want the hospital to be on the cutting edge and able to give your child the best care.  Giving to Mission Children’s Hospital makes our community stronger by having a children’s hospital that can provide our children with a better chance of conquering whatever they are battling,” said Shaun Collyer. “As a business owner, you can only hope that you have positioned your business in a thriving community.  By sponsoring Mission Children’s Hospital we feel that we are supporting a service that is attractive to families considering WNC as their next home.  We all want the best for our children, so it makes sense to support a resource that does so much everyday to support our youngest.”

The Radiothon will take place on Mar. 3-4, 2016. The fundraiser is in its ninth year and has raised over a million dollars for Mission Children’s Hospital.  Funds from the 2016 event will support the many pediatric programs at Mission Children’s Hospital and allows children access to healthcare across western North Carolina.

“We are excited and thankful to have Mountain Play Lodge as our partner for the radiothon. We are honored by their financial support as well as their desire to provide outstanding care for the children in our region,” said Dr. Mims.
