“We operate on a triple bottom line operating system of People, Planet and Profit, measuring our success based on our social and environmental impact in addition to profit,” says Owner & Founder Mike Figura.
This approach is a testament to the company’s commitment to making a positive impact on society and the environment while maintaining a successful business.

Our team of 40 full-time agents is well equipped to meet our clients needs.”
Where did your career find its start? How did you get involved with your company?
“Mike Figura started Mosaic Realty started in 2010. During that time, in the depths of the housing and financial crises, experienced brokers were leaving the industry and overhead-heavy real estate companies were folding. Mike had been working part time as a broker, and also as an urban planning consultant, working with small scale developers on urban-infill green building projects. He realized the changes there were taking place in the industry created an opportunity for a different kind of real estate company that was both cutting edge, had polished branding and was community focused.”
How has your company grown over the years?
“Mosaic Realty has steadily grown since 2010 from Mike working by himself in the basement of an office building on Haywood Road to a firm of 40 agents and 5 staff in downtown Asheville. Not only has Mosaic Realty become the top-producing locally owned real estate company in WNC, but they crossed the $1,000,000 mark in giving to local non-profits in 2023. Mosaic received the honor of being recognized by the National Association of Fundraising Professionals WNC chapter with the Business Philanthropy of the Year Award in 2023 as well.”
What was the biggest hurdle you had to overcome?
“The largest hurdle that I’ve been presented with, and continually work at, is maintaining the family-like culture that Mosaic organically had as a small business even though we have grown to a mid-sized company. The loss of everyday interactions that disappeared with working remotely during covid also changed the way that we interact, and created a situation where focusing on culture is more important than ever.”
What’s the greatest business advice you’ve been given?
“The best business advice I was given is that 95% of your problems are going to come from 5% of your clients, so if you can become skilled at weeding those people out ahead of time and saying no to working with people who you don’t think are a good fit, then you’ll enjoy your work a whole lot more.”
What do you see as your company’s legacy?
“Mosaic’s legacy is hopefully in showing that you can have a locally owned professional company that succeeds by focusing not only on being good at its craft, but also in supporting the community and being a good corporate citizen.”
