Mora is hosting an earring exhibition to showcase the strength of our local jewelry community throughout the month of December. On Friday, December 7, there will be a special reception from 5:00 to 8:00 pm to feature a holiday collection of exceptional earrings.
Western North Carolina is nationally recognized as a major region for fine studio crafts. The area is lauded for its concentration of ceramic, glass, and wood artists, but far less attention is paid to the community of professional jewelers at work in this area. Mora co-owners Joanna Gollberg and Marthe Le Van are presenting a group exhibition that reveals and celebrates the strength and depth of the local jewelry field.
Sixteen jewelers will be showing together at Mora for the very first time. Each jeweler has created at least five pairs of handmade earrings for this event. The earrings in the exhibit reflect a wide range of styles, techniques, materials, and prices.
Jewelers participating in Mora’s holiday earring invitational are Sharon Bailey, Molly Dingledine, Nancy Fleming, Geoff Giles, Danielle Miller-Gilliam, Jason Janow, Deb Karash, Stacey Lane, Audrey Muldoon, Caitie Sellers, Matt Smith, Molly Sharp, Terry Taylor, Dave Vrooman, Warah West, and Rhonda & Elijah Wyman.
Mora is located at 9 West Walnut St., Suite 2-A (between Scully’s and Carolina Lane). For more information, please call (828) 575-2294 or visit www.moracollection.com
