Montford Park Players, an Asheville theatrical tradition, is proud to announce their upcoming audition for THREE classic plays: Titus Andronicus and Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare, and Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. The auditions will be held at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheater, located at 92 Gay Street in the heart of the Montford region of Asheville, April 30th and May 1st, both days from Noon to 6pm. Performances will be on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, beginning at 7:30pm throughout the summer months and are absolutely FREE to attend.
Titus Andronicus will be directed by Michael McCauley, best known for his work with NC Stage Company. Measure for Measure will be directed by Montford Park Players’ Artistic Director, Scott Keel, coming off his triumph with The Dark Lady of the Sonnets and Upstart Crow, at Asheville’s Masonic Temple. Dusty McKeelan, also a common presence at NC Stage Company, will tackle Pride & Prejudice.
Montford Park Players, has been presenting Shakespeare and other classical works to the Asheville community since 1973, and has since grown to be one of Western North Carolina’s most beloved and well-known cultural attractions.
