The Junior League of Asheville is proud to announce their Board of Directors for the 2015-2016 year. The Junior League of Asheville is a volunteer, non-profit women’s organization that has been serving the Asheville area and surrounding communities since 1925. The organization is committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Some of the Junior League of Asheville’s past partners include the ABCCM Food Pantry, the American Red Cross, MANNA Food Bank, Children First/Communities in Schools, Helpmate and the YWCA. The local Junior League is part of a larger organization, the Association of Junior Leagues of International Inc., which includes 295 Leagues throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The Association of Junior Leagues International consists of approximately 160,000 women, around the world, all working for positive change in their communities.
