Kiss Me, Kate Opens on the Mainstage: The classic, quintessential Broadway musical Kiss Me, Kate depicts the backstage and onstage antics of two feuding romantic couples during a production of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.  Cole Porter’s memorable music and irresistible lyrics are just two of the reasons this enchanting musical was described by The New York Times as “an elegant, nimble dream of a show, one of the rare perfect achievements of the American musical theater.”  Directed by Chanda Calentine with musical direction by Brad Curtioff.  Kiss Me, Kate opens Friday, June 7, 2013 and will run through Sunday, June 30, 2013 with performances on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm. Tickets range from $15.00-$25.00 and are available in person or over the phone (828-254-1320) at the ACT Box Office or online at www.ashevilletheatre.org.
