H&R Block to host Feed-the-Block event – Nov. 8th

October 21, 2014

H&R Block, recognizing the important contributions that the Salvation Army and Brother Wolf Animal Rescue make to the community throughout the year, will partner with them on Saturday, November 8th from noon to 4pm. Michael Ferguson, district manager for H&R Block, believes his office’s support for these charitable organizations are an important part of being good neighbors in the Asheville community.

Tax professionals and other associates from H&R Block offices in Asheville are asking the community to join them November 8th, in the Aaron’s parking lot at 1298 Patton Avenue and donate a bagged, boxed or canned food item that will go towards the local Salvation Army chapter, or canned or dry food item that will go to the animals at Brother wolf Animal Rescue group, a local “no kill” organization.

This family fun event will feature an up-close look at some of the city’s favorite trucks. Attendees will have the chance to take photos and interact with the drivers and crews. Event participants include the Asheville Police and Fire departments, Buncombe County Medical Services, Waste Pro, Southern Concrete Materials, AutoSafe Towing, Aaron’s and Norman’s Ice Cream.

“We not only work in this community, but we live, shop and volunteer here as well,” said Ferguson.  “H&R Block is proud to be able to help two great charities in our area with this event.”

H&R Block has approximately 12,000 company-owned and franchise offices throughout the country. Associates regularly donate time, talent and resources to local, regional and national charitable organizations. H&R Block encourages and recognizes the participation of associates who help improve the communities where they live and work.
