Frugal Backpacker has officially relocated to the Westgate Shopping Center and reopens this Friday, November 7th. The retail outfitter will host a Grand Opening event for the public on the following Friday, November 14th.
Frugal Backpacker offers a diverse selection of clothes for the Asheville lifestyle, as well as specialty gear for hiking and camping.
“We are excited about the new location and how convenient it will be for everyone in and around Asheville to stop by for their favorite brands like Patagonia, Columbia and Mountain Hardwear,” said Frugal Backpacker’s Marketing Director Sarah Merrell. “New choices in selection change weekly as sample sales unfold,” Merrell explained. “Our selection of quality outdoor fashion and gear at these prices is unbeatable in the area.”
The location is ideal for other reasons too. A visitor to town can buy a warmer jacket at Frugal and be on the Blue Ridge Parkway within ten minutes. Locals who have their camping trips planned months ahead, can now be on the hunt for deals more frequently.
Geoff Gillikin, a 28-year old West Asheville resident is happy to have Frugal Backpacker, Asheville in the neighborhood. “A couple of weeks into my new job as a wilderness guide I realized I needed to upgrade a lot of my equipment and was able to find reliable gear at Frugal to keep me warm and dry on a limited budget. I’m glad I’ll be able to stop by Frugal more easily when I need something again.”
Frugal Backpacker’s personality is a good fit for West Asheville, an area that attracts people of all kinds and who typically prefer shopping without too many frills.
The public is invited to the Grand Opening celebration from 4:00-8:00 PM on November 14th with live music by “Yess I” and refreshments provided by Frugal’s welcoming neighbors, Earth Fare and Green Sage Cafe.
