Festiva Hospitality Group is announcing the acquisition of the building at 521 College Street, formerly the offices of a Re/Max real estate agency. The building will serve as the third office for employees at Festiva’s Asheville headquarters.
This is a major step in Festiva’s growth in Asheville as the building’s location on College Street just a few blocks from the heart of downtown gives Festiva a more public presence in its hometown than the company has ever had before. Festiva has approximately 100 employees in Asheville and nearly 1000 overall.
“We are pleased that this addition allows for future expansion in our corporate headquarters. With recent growth and reorganization of several divisions of our corporate offices, we are positioned to become one of Asheville’s most desirable employers,” said Don Clayton, co-founder and chief executive officer of Festiva Hospitality Group.
The building at 521 College Street now serves as the headquarters for Resort Travel & Xchange (RTX), a new travel exchange company that is a subsidiary of Festiva Hospitality Group. The majority of Festiva’s Asheville employees remain at historic Zealandia, where the company has called home since 2004. Zealandia Capital, another Festiva subsidiary, is currently operating out of the Deltec house annex, also on College Street. All three offices are within a very short distance of one another on Beaucatcher Mountain, from its base on College Street to the top overlooking downtown and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.
