In celebration of the musical talent in Western North Carolina and the surrounding areas, several community agencies are supporting a once-in-a-lifetime concert being spearheaded by the Music Foundation of Western North Carolina. The Fifth Annual World Masterwork Series Benefit Concert will held Saturday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Diana Wortham Theatre in Asheville. This extraordinary “3Bs” concert will feature rarely heard Johann Sebastian Bach concertos written for three pianos, featuring performances by the Hendersonville Symphony Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Thomas Joiner, the Chamber Orchestra will perform with noted pianists Christopher Tavernier, Jesse Davis, and Vance Reese.
Also in attendance will be J.S. Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms in full dress for the period.
