Dr. Michael Schurr joins Mission Medical Associates Trauma Surgery

Mission Medical Associates Trauma Surgery is pleased to announce the addition of Michael J. Schurr, MD. Dr. Schurr joins Mission from the University of Colorado Department of Surgery. 

“We are pleased to have Dr. Schurr join the team of exceptional surgeons at Mission Medical Associates Trauma Surgery, and to take on the role of Surgical Director of Mission Wound Services,” said Jonathan Bailey, Vice President of Operations for Mission Health. “He will be a valuable asset to the community and to Mission Health, bringing extensive educational experience and a skilled background to his role as a critical care surgeon and surgical director.”

Dr. Schurr is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.  He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in the Madison, Wisconsin area and his Trauma/Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Dr. Schurr has received several research grants and has been published numerous times in journals and textbooks.
