Birmingham-based blogger, bookseller, and buy local advocate Carrie Rollwagen will talk about shopping locally and what it means—to businesses, communities, and individuals: part memoir of her year shopping only from local businesses and part exploration of the philosophical and economic reasons for doing so.
The Localist: Think Independent Buy Local and Reclaim the American Dreamlanded Rollwagen on Southern Living’s “50 People Who Are Changing the South in 2015” list. Also a train buff, Rollwagen will stop in Asheville as part of her Amtrak book tour from New Orleans to New York.
