Businesses That Accepted Visa & Mastercard from 2004-19: Claim Your Share of $5 Billion Settlement Before February, 2025 with TPMC

December 11, 2024

Businesses who accepted Visa & Mastercard between 2004 to 2019 may be eligible for payment through the Payment card interchange fee Settlement and must take action to claim your portion of the $5.54 Billion settlement. This is the result of the lawsuit against Visa & Mastercard for overcharging US-based merchants. The deadline to file your claim is Feb 4, 2025.

Here are two options for filing a claim:

  1. File your own claim by going to the Payment Card Settlement website.
  2. Use a filing service like LenCred through a negotiated fee from Asheville Chamber member Mark Phillips of TPMC LLC

“For me I didn’t want to take on the claim filing process on my own,” said Mark Phillips of TPMC LLC. “I hire plumbers to do what trained plumbers do & I pay a barber to cut my hair rather than doing it myself. You get the idea. With the team that I worked with to file my claim, I was able to negotiate their fee down to 30% of my refund. I was able to get that same percentage for you as a fellow Asheville Chamber member.” Mark went on to point out, there is no cost if you don’t qualify for a refund and no money comes out of your pocket, the discounted fee just comes out of your refund when it is issued. “The process for me was very simple and I had a trusted friend help every step of the way. I did not want to be bothered with figuring anything out on my own and I am glad I chose to work with the team at LenCred so I could focus on the things I know and that I do well.”

How the process works:

You can get the process started for your companies by filling out the form on the top of the landing page. One form per entity. As soon as you complete that form, you will get an immediate pop up that gives you their three-page agreement where you can authorize them to take care of this on your behalf. It incorporates the discounted fee for Asheville Chamber members. If you contact LenCred directly, you will pay their normal 33-40% fees.

“The team at LenCred can assist you like they did for me,” Mark said. “LenCred is a 15-year-old Fintech in the SMB space. Their contact info and office location are available below. Lastly, the founder and CEO at LenCred – Tom Gazaway – has assured me that if any of you have questions or if you have multiple entities like me, he also has a multiple entity DocuSign agreement that he and his team can send you to make it a little quicker and cleaner (than doing one entity per page on the web landing page provided). Don’t hesitate to reach out to Tom and his team as they will ensure you get all your questions answered and guide you through the process. I can vouch for Tom and his team being very dependable.”
