Funding:

  • The 2025 Festivals & Cultural Events Support Fund, from Explore Asheville, is open for applications from Buncombe County-based nonprofits and municipal partners. The fund provides financial assistance for local events that enhance the region’s appeal and contribute to its revival. Eligible events must take place between April 1 and December 31, 2025. The application deadline is February 10 at 5 p.m., and awards will be announced on February 26 during the BCTDA Board meeting. Grants will be disbursed after the completion of each event.   • OpenDoors Asheville announces Art Affair 2025: “The Ripple Effect,” a gala and art auction to support local students and families. Taking place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Masonic Temple in Asheville, the event will feature a Live Auction with Brunk Auctions, a Silent Auction with mobile bidding, fine art, luxury travel, and more. Presented by Hunter Volvo and Pinegate Renewables, the event celebrates the transformative power of collective action. Volunteer:

  • The Asheville-Buncombe Continuum of Care is seeking volunteers for the annual Point-in-Time Count on January 28 and 29, 2025. Volunteers will work in teams to survey people experiencing homelessness in Buncombe County, helping collect critical data that directs federal funding and informs local strategies. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided. The count includes street canvassing on January 28 and 29, as well as outreach at service locations like AHOPE Day Center and Haywood Street Congregation.
