Contest:

  • Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity has revamped its annual ReStore ReUse Contest, open for submissions until September 30, 2024. This year, a panel of three judges will select the Best in Show, while the public will vote for winners in three categories: Art, Furniture & Home Decor, and Dwelling.   • Punch Bucket Lit will host its inaugural Punch Bucket Literary Festival in Asheville on September 20-21, 2024, at the Wortham Center for Performing Arts and The Renaissance Hotel. The festival will feature over 100 authors, including Lauren Groff, and offer readings, workshops, and panels on memoir, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. A bookfair with 20+ literary magazines and presses will also be held. Events start with a Friday night rapid reading and continue all day Saturday. Tickets are available at worthamarts.org.
