This week in AVL Biz, we congratulate Allegra Marketing, Gardner-Webb University, and Pardee UNC Health Care on the recent milestones. We wish the ZSR scholars a wonderful sabbatical, and encourage you all to get in touch with your inner dramaturge for ACT’s new season.

Expansion

  • Gardner-Webb University has finalized plans for a new online degree program through the School of Education. Beginning in fall 2018, the University will offer a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership (BAOL) through the Degree Completion Program (DCP).

Opportunity

  • Is there a show that you’ve always wanted to direct? To star in? Could that show be performed in an intimate, black box theatre? Asheville Community Theatre is seeking proposals for shows to be presented in 35below, the small theatre located at the back of the ACT building, for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Anyone in the community is welcome to propose a show for the 35below season. Successful applicants should think about shows with small casts and light scenic needs and consider scripts that offer a diversity of voices, perspectives, and experiences; scripts by women and/or people of color; and scripts that illuminate contemporary issues.
