  • AMCHC was chosen to host this year’s National Conference of State Legislatures across five different states at their Tallulah site. AMCHC was able to showcase the hard work and dedication of community health centers across the nation as an FQHC “Federally Qualified Health Center.” “Though we have come a long way, we still have a long way to go but we are committed to the work,” says Treva Williams, executive assistant at AMCHC. “It is because of our strong leadership team and awesome staff that we are able to continue the work that we love to do.” Learn more about AMCHC here.
  • The Van Winkle Law Firm is celebrating Nancy Fowler, a recipient of the Exemplary Pro Bono Paralegal Award, presented by the Buncombe County Bar. Nancy has been a paralegal with the firm’s litigation practice for 35 years and her pro bono work in the WNC community spans throughout that time.

  • The Magnetic Theatre will hold a carnival-style fundraising event at 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022, featuring live music, circus performances, auctions, raffles, games, and refreshments galore.   • Pack Square Collection is hosting a new event, the Spring Market, rescheduled to Saturday, May 21st, from 11am-4pm located at the top level of the Pack Square Parking Garage at 26 Biltmore Avenue. Attendees at this free event can expect to shop ten locally-owned makers and artists offering one-of-a-kind gifts, leather goods, unique art, gourmet foods and more. Popular vendors include Roots Hummus, Feel Handmade, Ashton Zager Fiber Art and Roots & Home. The event will also include live music with the Jukebox Jumpers from 11 am to 1 pm and complimentary Spring Market tote bags, while supplies last.
