Achievement

  • Jim Oliver, the founder of AvL Technologies, will be inducted into the Space & Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) Hall of Fame on March 23. Along with three other honorees, Oliver will join the leaders who created, sustained and expanded the industry over the past 60 years. The staff at AvL appreciates Oliver’s personal, professional and entrepreneurial achievements, values the incredible amount of knowledge he brings to the company and they are immensely grateful that the Space & Satellite industry is recognizing him with this special and well-deserved honor. 
  • HCA Healthcare has been recognized for the 11th time as one of the 2021 World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere. “We are honored to again be recognized as a World’s Most Ethical Company and owe it all to our incredible colleagues, especially those working on the front lines,” said Sam Hazen, chief executive officer of HCA Healthcare. “This acknowledgement underscores that, even when faced with a threat to public health and safety like that of a pandemic, we are committed to doing what’s right for our people, our patients, our communities and other stakeholders.” HCA Healthcare is one of seven honorees in the Healthcare Providers category. In 2021, Ethisphere recognized 135 honorees spanning 22 countries and 47 industries.

  • Four Seasons Home Care have announced they received the 2021 Best of Home Care –Leader in Excellence Award from Home Care Pulse, the leading firm in quality assurance for home care, for the third time. The Leader in Excellence Award is the highest recognition awarded by Home Care Pulse and is given to select home care businesses that consistently rank among the very highest in 10 or more quality metrics. As a Leader in Excellence, Four Seasons Home Care is now ranked among the top 10% of home care providers participating in the nationwide Home Care Pulse Satisfaction Management Program. “This is the third consecutive year that we have been awarded the Leader in Excellence award. It is a clear reflection of the dedication we have to hiring and training the best caregivers to provide compassionate, quality care to our clients.   • Radius Chiropractic is holding a donation drive benefiting Beloved Asheville. Until March 31st, drop off any baby items: formula, wipes, bottles, diapers, baby clothes or other baby related  items at Radius Chiropractic at 1011 Tunnel Rd. St. #110 to help support families in need in the community. 

Happenings

  • On Saturday, March 20 at 7 p.m., the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts presents magician Joshua Lozoff in “Virtually Impossible,” a made-for-livestream online event. In this interactive, fully magical live show, Lozoff will be able to read the minds of audience members through the Zoom stream, from miles away. The show is designed for all ages and calls upon the audience for participation, giving each attendee a front-row seat to the action. Tickets: $25 per household; virtual-only.
