Tickets are now available for the Asheville Area Arts Council’s (AAAC) Annual Color Ball, The Emerald Ball, to be held Saturday, October 5th, 7:00pm to midnight (with a VIP pre-party starting at 6:00pm)! The Emerald Ball promises to be a gem of an evening with a VIP pre-party, entertainment featuring local artists and a DJ, auctions, local foods, and cocktails featuring Troy & Sons moonshine and whiskeys.
The Emerald Ball will be held at Pink Dog Creative, in the heart of the River Arts District, spreading the evening’s events between businesses decked out in scenes from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Entertainment includes a fashion installation of human statues featuring local designers, performance from Dr. Sketchy’s, fire dancing by Found World Bellydance, dance performance with Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, and you can even get your tarot card readings by special guest Professora Marvel. Other festivities include a silent auction, a live art auction, an interactive art project, and of course dancing! Guests will not want to miss out on opportunities to bid for getaways to Kiawah Island Resort, Wild Dunes Resort, and a week’s vacation in Mexico. Additional items for auction will be fantastic artwork made and donated by local artists and two VIP tickets to Art Basel, the international arts festival held in Miami this December.
General admission tickets are $50, and VIP tickets are $100. VIP guests will arrive early for the exclusive pre-party, 6-7pm, with an artist meet-and-greet, and a head start on auction bidding, open bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres from Limones, and a special performance by Cripps Puppets. All proceeds benefit the Asheville Area Arts Council’s programs and mission to strengthen the vitality and visibility of the creative community, and grow Buncombe County’s arts, culture, and entertainment. Some benefiting AAAC programs include the Regional Artist Project Grant, Asheville Art in the Park Art and Community Grant, Kids Tixx, providing tickets to one child and one adult to attend various arts events in the Asheville area, and the AAAC’s Artist’s Curriculum, providing area artists with resources and opportunities to build upon their business skills.
No need to hop a balloon or get caught in a tornado to make it to the Emerald Ball. Purchase tickets online at www.ashevillearts.com or stop by the AAAC at 346 Depot St., Asheville, NC. For more info, go online or call 828.258.0710.
