Arts Council now accepting Grassroots Arts Program applications

July 8, 2014

The Asheville Area Arts Council is now accepting 2014-2015 North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program applications for Buncombe County. Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Buncombe County.

Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals), arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county. Grassroots funds are not generally awarded to arts organizations that receive funding through the North Carolina Arts Council’s State Arts Resources. Projects must occur between July 1, 2014– June 30, 2015.

The deadline for submitting your application is August 15th, 2014 by 5:00pm.

The Asheville Area Arts Council is looking forward to working with local organizations to develop programs, projects or services to promote the cultural arts in Buncombe County. The AAAC is hosting a Grassroots Arts Program Grant Workshop to assist interested applicants in preparing competitive grants on Thursday, July 24th from 5:30-6:30 at the AAAC new location in the Grove Arcade. Even if your organization has received a grant in the past, attending this workshop may be helpful as the guidelines change annually.

Mail applications to Asheville Area Arts Council P. O. Box 507 Asheville, NC  28802 or deliver applications to our NEW location in the Grove Arcade suite #143 offices during regular business hours from 10:00am-6:00pm. (after August 1, 2014)
