| Help Hunger Take a Holiday with "Kids, Paws and Claus," MANNA Food Bank Carolina Mornings will host the first annual "Kids, Paws and Claus" charity event on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, noon-5 p.m. The event will be held at Biltmore Village Villas, complete with holiday decorations, refreshments, a jolly Santa Claus and the opportunity to donate canned goods to the western North Carolina community. This is a chance for entire families – kids, pets and kids at heart – to meet Santa Claus while helping MANNA FoodBank. Cameras and video cameras are welcome. |

Smoky Mountain Living Change of Ownership Smoky Mountain Living, a new chamber member, has recently changed ownership. Scott McLeod and Greg Boothroyd purchased the magazine from its former owners and are in the process of making many improvements to its editorial content and design. Smoky Mountain Living is a nationally distributed magazine headquartered in Waynesville that covers the entire Smoky Mountain region from Asheville to Boone to Knoxville to north Georgia. Asheville Community Theatre will open Nuncrackers, the Nunsense Christmas The nutty nuns are back! Asheville Community Theatre will open Nuncrackers, the Nunsense Christmas musical, on Friday, November 14th at 8:00 pm. Performances will run for three weekends through November 30, 2008 and are held on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm. The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa hosts The 16th annual National Gingerbread House Competition The 16th annual National Gingerbread House Competition is scheduled for November 17, 2008 at The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, located in Asheville, North Carolina. For the second year, the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa is partnering with downtown Asheville’s historic Grove Arcade to display the entries. Beginning November 18, the Arcade will display 35 houses to be selected by Royce Hughes and Aaron Morgan of The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. After a one-year sabbatical, the EXALT Ministry of Biltmore Baptist Church will present “Carolina Mountain Christmas Spectacular”.
